A Chiswick police officer has died after being involved in a road collision on his way to work. Scott Eastwood-Smith was knocked off his motorcycle on the A316 in Twickenham.

The incident occurred on Saturday 14 May when a Toyota Yaris and Scott's Suzuki motorcycle collided at the junction of the A316 Chertsey Road and Marlow Crescent. The female driver of the car was uninjured and she was not arrested.

London Ambulance Service, and the air ambulance doctor, attended. Scott was taken to St Mary's Hospital W2, where he died shortly before midnight.

Scott was aged 29 and a member of the MPS rugby team. He was a single man who had been with the Metropolitan Police Service for two years. His family have been informed.
