Blenheim Concerts 2008 Season

Sunday afternoon concerts celebrate 21st anniversary

THE BLENHEIM MUSIC CIRCLE was formed in 1987 to promote public concerts and recitals in the Chiswick area by professional musicians. Since its formation it has presented over 100 concerts, which have featured more than 300 young musicians. It is entirely dependent on members’ subscriptions, ticket sales and advertising support from local businesses.

Traditional Music from Folk Song to Gypsy Music to Jewish Klezmer.

KOSMOS perform their own original arrangements and improvisations inspired by Jewish, Gypsy, Balkan and Tango music with a contemporary twist. They have been performing since 2005 all over Europe, and are joined by Milos Milojevic who played for Blenheim Concerts in March 2006.

Elizabeth Cooney has emerged as one of the most exciting and dynamic young artists of her generation.
Matthew Schellhorn has a growing international career which in recent seasons has seen recitals in Europe and North America. He played for Blenheim Concerts in September 2005.

Half Irish, half British, the Carducci String Quartet have won prizes at no less than six International Chamber Music Competitions.

The season runs from January to December and comprises six concerts presented in alternate months.

All concerts in the 2008 series will be held at The Catholic Centre, 2 Duke's Avenue, Chiswick, W.4. (Opposite Chiswick Library)
