Grove Park Primary School is a small local school in Chiswick close to the River Thames. Their mission is “to provide stimulating opportunities for all children, to challenge their thinking, to learn with each other, and promote trust and happiness”. The school benefits from a strong PTA and committed governing body, who seek to improve the school continuously through special events like last year’s successful Art and Science weeks, extracurricular activities and fund-raising events. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) enjoys a particularly high status in the school. The school is dedicated to raising funds for an interactive learning centre, which will provide children with state-of-the-art computers and learning materials in an inspiring new building. Afterschool clubs include Football, Netball, Basketball, Chess, Drama and French. The Grove Park Fun Club provides additional quality care by trained staff until 6.00 pm. A staffed breakfast club is available from 7.45 am. The school has developed a scheme for afternoon nursery childcare to complement the morning sessions. The school’s academic results are well above the national average. For 2006 they achieved a perfect score at Key Stage 2 - Level 4 with 100% in English, Maths and Science. The last Ofsted report was overall favourable, stating “good progress in a all core subjects” and judging 92 % of the lessons as at least satisfactory.
