Chiswick Suite
Local composer Graham Preskett has written a new
commission especially for the Grove Park Music Festival, inspired by his
daughter’s impressions of living in Chiswick. This delightful piece takes us
from waking up early one morning, with a trip to the park, meandering along the
river, a walk down the High Road, and a moment of reflection at sunset until
it’s time to go home.
Graham is a composer,
arranger and player with a Masters Degree in Classics from Cambridge and is an
Associate of the Royal College of Music. He has written music for films,
television drama and advertisements, arranged music for famous recording
artists like Tom Jones and Sir Paul McCartney and as a session musician his
credits include Captain Corelli (mandolin), Moulin Rouge (tango violin), Thelma
and Louise (harmonica), and Bridget Jones’s Diary (bouzouki). He also recently
played the Albert Hall with Deep Purple.
Performances by the Grove Park Music Festival Singing Competition winners Jessica Hughes and Alexia Prakas.
