Acton Green Commuity Herb Garden is now up and running and looking for volunteers to help plant the beds.

The Herb Garden will be a low maintenance and sustainable garden growing perennial herbs and edible flowers for the community, and an educational and recreational addition to the playground for children to learn about food growing.

The garden will take the form of two raised beds located on the northeast boundary of the children's playground on Acton Green.

The project was proposed by Anna Marie Yassin, a local resident, allotment holder and mum. It received funding from Southfields Ward Forum and is supported by Acton Green Residents Association. Cultivate London were asked to build the raised beds. The organisation is a local social enterprise that generates training opportunities and jobs for unemployed young people aged 16-24 in practical horticulture and landscaping.

The planting date is still to be confirmed. If you would like to get involved please email actongreenherbs@gmail.com.
