If you love singing, it’s not too late to join up and discover the joys of singing together. The Addison Jazz ladies' choir is part of the Addison Group of Singers based in West London.

A spokesperson said: "We present a wonderfully diverse programme of music including songs from the Musicals and film, Jazz standards and popular music. Whether we are transforming Chiswick Town Hall into a Jazz Cafe, performing at Wathen Hall in Barnes or in the prestigious Brandenburg Choral Festival we are always accompanied by top musicians and our very own Jazz Ensemble."

This summer the choir is doing something different.

"This term we are keeping our costs low and focusing on developing our performance skills and singing technique. The programme of 6 sessions is designed by the dynamic and inspiring Jill Jarman (Jazz Choir conductor, pianist and composer) and will:
• improve your vocal tone, breathing and posture
• focus on active listening to develop musical awareness
• develop performance skills ie improvisation, interpretation and interaction
• expand your knowledge of three main genres i.e. Swing, Ballad and Latin.

Join them and you can learn to sing a selection from the following:
The Rhythm of Life, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, Lullaby of Birdland, Pennsylvania 6-5000 and Moondance.

Term starts: Monday 19 May 2014

Other sessions (all Mondays): 2 June, 9 June, 16 June, 23 June, 30 June*
