Addison Singers are seeking enthusiastic new singers to join both or either the auditioned Chamber Choir and non-auditioned Oratorio Choir. The Addison Oratorio Choir is performing Verdi's monumental ‘Requiem’ with a first class group of professional soloists and orchestra in London on 22 November.

This work of outstanding beauty benefits from a very large choir, and to this end they are offering new members the chance to join them.  No audition is needed, music scores are supplied, and a rehearsal CD with your voice part on it is available.

Rehearsals are held at The Polish Centre W6 0RF (on the border of Chiswick & Hammersmith) on Wednesday evenings 7.30pm - 9.30pm, and start Wednesday 10 September.  They ’re also a very sociable choir and there are plenty of opportunities for meeting like-minded friends!  Early enrolment is advised and registration forms are available now online.

The Addison Chamber Choir have a solid reputation and are now auditioning for new members in all voice parts.  They sing a large repertoire but have become particularly known for the performance of music by a wide range of contemporary composers, many of whom have written pieces especially for the choir, including well known local composer Cecilia MacDowall.

Most recently, the choir performed with the Gavin Bryars Ensemble at the London Festival of Contemporary Church Music and will give another concert with the ensemble at King's Place in 2015. Performances in the past few months have included the Faure Requiem at St Martin-in-the-Fields, a memorial concert for Sir John Tavener, and a concert celebrating the 450th anniversary of the birth of William Shakespeare.

Plans for 2014/15 include two further performances as part of the Brandenburg Choral Festival (one at St Martin-in-the-Fields), and a concert as part of the Yeats Festival in Ireland. There is also the opportunity to join the Addison Oratorio Choir in a major performance of the Verdi Requiem in November this year.

A bursary to attract and retain young singers who demonstrate exceptional talent and wish to join the Chamber Choir may be available on application. The bursary covers all fees and music for one year and is conditional on also joining the Oratorio Choir and committing to singing at all Chamber and Oratorio Choir performances during the year.
