A former nightclub in Chiswick is to become an Argentinian steakhouse. The Buenos Aires restaurant chain is to open on the site of the former Gallery club just off Turnham Green Terrace.

Describing itself as "the ultimate Argentine experience", the first Buenos Aires restaurant opened in 2007 in Purley and now has branches in Fulham, Wimbledon, the City and Kent. The Chiswick restaurant will be its eighth.

Refurbishment is continuing on the new site, and the company website says it will open soon.

Beef is described as Argentine’s most iconic food and the restaurant website says it is cooked on an authentic parilla (barbecue). The wine list will feature the popular Argentine Malbec grape.

Buenos Aires Restaurant was recently nominated by the Argentine tourist office as one of a number of flagship steakhouses in the world.

The menu in a nearby branch includes specialities such as empanadas, patatas bravas and chorizo starters, with beef specialities including Bife A Caballo (sirloin with fried eggs), and a Steak Sampler - four different types of 6oz steak for £46.95.

However vegetarians will be catered for as well as carnivores, and there is a children's menu, and special-offer lunches.
