Local resident Adrian Biddell will join Chiswick Auctions as Head of Paintings and Fine Art in January 2019.

Adrian, a former Senior Director at Sotheby's, has lived in Chiswick for 25 years, where he is married with four children, and he is well known for his charity work, acting as auctioneer for a variety of causes.

He spent twenty-seven years at Sotheby’s Auctioneers, twelve years of which were in the Impressionist & Modern Art department and latterly as Head of 19th Century European Paintings. On leaving Sotheby’s he joined Waterhouse & Dodd, where he spent two years. He set up Adrian Biddell Fine Art Ltd in 2017.

Managing Director of Chiswick Auctions, William Rouse, said, “We are delighted to welcome Adrian onboard and to have someone of his calibre and experience to lead the Fine Art department.”

Adrian commented,“I am looking forward immensely to joining Chiswick Auctions at such an exciting time for the company. It has grown enormously, not just in its high level of expertise, but also as an increasingly significant player in the industry. It now offers a wide range of specialist sales, alongside its more general interior designs sales and caters for a broad client base, from the high end, to middle market."
