The Bedford Park Bicycle Club will be officially launched by local bicyclist and broadcaster Jeremy Vine at 2:30pm on Sunday 29 March at St Michael and All Angels Church Hall in Bedford Park.

The club has been revived by a group of local enthusiasts who discovered it had been very active in the 1880s but that its membership declined during the 20th century as cars took over as the main means of travel for Chiswick residents.

Jeremy will describe his perspective on bicycling by giving his insight into 'A Flying Machine Powered By Cake'. He is often seen seen riding his Penny Farthing through Chiswick although he uses a different bike to commute to work!

The organisers will then run through the programme of rides this year. They are planning to have guided local rides every month until the end of October.

After the talks there will be a very gentle opening two-wheeled bike ride to Chiswick House for a stop in the cafe or for those who like more drama, a ride to the river to watch the University Boat Race.
