A team of Year 1 pupils from Belmont Primary School has completed the Osterley House Junior Parkrun in order to raise money for their school. The children raised £1,200 for the Belmont Home School Association, to help pay for much-needed resources and equipment.

Under the team name The Belmont Pocket Rockets, twelve children tackled the Junior Parkrun’s 2km course in the leafy grounds of Osterley House. All the participants completed the challenge and enjoyed a huge sense of achievement and team spirit. A cake picnic after the race acted as an excellent incentive to the runners!

The BHSA – Belmont’s parent body – launched their Active Belmont campaign on Justgiving this summer. The campaign encourages Belmont pupils and their families to do something active to raise money for the school. From marathon running to music-making, the campaign hopes to tap into the talents and interests within the Belmont community and broaden the scope of the school’s current fundraising activities.

The team are very grateful to all their generous sponsors and to the excellent Parkrun volunteers at Osterley House who helped make the day such a success.
