James Cracknell And Beverley Turner Confirm Separation

Olympian James Cracknell and broadcaster Beverley Turner have confirmed that they have separated.

The couple who lived in Chiswick for several years, have three children and have been married for seventeen years.

They said in a statement on Friday (29 March ), 'We can confirm that sadly we separated last year. Together, we remain committed to our amazing children, they are our absolute priority.”

James is preparing to become the oldest participant in the Boat Race next Sunday. He has been studying for an MA in Philosophy in Cambridge for the past eight months.

Beverley, who is a broadcaster and journalist, is also a birthing expert and is living in the family home with the couple's children.

In 2012 the couple wrote a book 'Touching Distance' about the challenges their marriage faced following James's serious accident. He suffered serious head injuries in America in 2010 when he was involved in a collision with a truck while cycling from west to east.'

He described how the accident left him with mood swings, memory problems and epilepsy.

James is involved with Headway, the Brain Injury association and the couple are involved in the Bicycle Helmet Initiative Trust. He was also involved in politics with the Conservative Party in Brentford & Isleworth.
