The Chiswick Bookshop on Turnham Green Terrace has announced that it is to close next Wednesday.

The bookshop/publisher opened in Turnham Green Terrace in the former Dynasty Man premises last November.

Emily Crane of the shop said they were very sad to be closing. They are currently running a half price sale on stock. Many local people had told staff they were upset to see the shop go.

The front of the shop sold books, ranging from bestsellers, to art and history, and children's books. It was part of of Hyde Park Editions, a publishing group which relocated from its Barley Mow passage to the shop.

When the shop opened it said that it would offer something different from all the other bookshops in Chiswick. They hosted events and saw themselves as a 'community space'. The company was founded by Emily's father, publisher David Crane, and Nick Croydon, both Chiswick residents who worked in publishing for many years.
