A comedy promoter who struggled to find a venue for a show called 'Let's laugh at Boris' during the Mayoral election has won backing from Ken Livingstone for his next show.

Crispin Flintoff, a Brentford resident, is putting on a comedy night on 22 July at the George IV pub in Chiswick High Road called 'Stand up for Labour' and Ken Livingstone has agreed to speak at the beginning of the show.

'I found it incredibly moving when Ken announced he was no longer standing for office and I wanted to invite him to speak at the show so he could see how much his work has been appreciated.'

The comedy night features Arthur Smith as the headline act as well as stand up from Joe Wells, Patricia Sinclair and Anthony Miller. The MP for Hammersmith Andy Slaughter will also be speaking.
