Brentford Football Club Plans Go On Show
Local groups say the development will have an impact on Chiswick
Plans to bring forward a new home for Brentford Football Club will go on show to the public next week in a further step towards the submission of a planning application to Hounslow Council. The Stadium will be built at Lionel Road, near the Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre.
Local groups in Chiswick say the capacity of the stadium and the potential scale of the enabling development, which may include three tall residential blocks on each of three corners of the site, will have a major impact on Chiswick. They have urged residents in the area to attend the exhibition to inform themselves on the Club’s intentions.

The Football Club is planning to move from its existing stadium at Griffin Park to a new purpose built community stadium. The plans being developed will provide a modern 20,000 capacity stadium and they hope to have it completed by 2016.
Before a planning application is submitted, Brentford Football Club want to hear the views of the local community about their proposals. The Club is hoping to submit its planning application in May 2013.
A Pre-Planning Submission Consultation Exhibition, where the plans will be on show and members of the development team on hand to discuss the plans and answer local residents’ questions will be taking place at the following times and dates:
The West Chiswick and Gunnersbury Society is represented on the reformed Lionel Road Liaison Group together with other local resident groups. Marie Rabouhans, Vice-Chairman of the WCGS said they would be raising issues of impact on local community in relation to matters such as transport (Gunnersbury Station and Kew Bridge stations) as well as the impact of the development itself.
