Chiswick's Metropolis studio was celebrating success at the Brit Awards as winners Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith both had albums mastered at Metropolis.

Ed Sheeran, who is a former student at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, an Academy partner with Metropolis, picked up awards for both British Male Solo Artist and British Album of the Year.

Stuart Hawkes, the Metropolis Mastering engineer mastered Sheeran’s multiplatinum-selling (and now Brit Award-winning) album X.

There was further success for Metropolis with Sam Smith, whose album was mastered at Metropolis. Smith’s meteoric rise to fame over the course of 2014 was recognised with an award for British Breakthrough Act and Global Success.
