Evelyn’s winning cupcake has a vanilla flavoured sponge topped with popping candy, blueberry buttercream and musical notes made out of chocolate. Her creation was entitled ‘The Popping Cupcake’.

The winner of the national competition will have their cakes sold and profits will be donated to music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins, who are dedicated to changing the lives of vulnerable and isolated people.

The entries were judged by Maison Blanc’s Head Patissier Alexandre Gresset, from the company’s product development team. He was so impressed with the winning designs that he made them especially as a one-off for the children, so that they could see their creations brought to life and have the opportunity to taste their finished products.

Says Vivien Hopkirk (Leader of 6th Chiswick Brownies): “The children thought very carefully about flavour combinations and exciting decorative ideas! It’s been such a lovely project to work on. We were very proud of the way the Brownies approached the task and their entries into the competition were all winners in my eyes!”

Maison Blanc’s Chiswick shop manager, Milena Myslinska says; “The designs from 6th Chiswick Brownies have been brilliant, it was really hard to choose a winner as they were all of such a high calibre. Huge congratulations to Evelyn! I can vouch that this cake doesn’t just look amazing, it tastes delicious too!”
