Cheese and wine matching in conjunction with Jeroboams

 Richard Grenfell-Hill from Jeroboams will be hosting an evening of matching wines and cheeses. They will be looking at 6 different cheeses and 6 wines that would accompany their unique flavours.

With a Royal Warrant to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, Jeroboams are sponsors of the British Cheese Awards and are seen as one of the best providers of cheese in the country.

Jeroboams opened their first shop in South Kensington in 1985, inspired by the traditional “fromageries” found all over France, selling a wide variety of cheeses, each individually sourced from farms and cheese makers.

Puccini’s La Boheme
(Chiswick House Gardens, 7.30 p.m.)
 Chiswick House Friends, together with Fullers Brewery and the London Borough of Hounslow, bring you The Garden Opera Company’s production of Puccini’s ‘La Boheme’ . Directed by Martin Lloyd-Evans the action takes place on a 1940’s Parisien set created by Neil Irish with costumes designed by Dulcie Best. Garden Opera’s singers and chamber musicians promise to take you on a journey of romance, joie de vivre and heartbreak!

The performance will take place on the North (rear) lawns of the House. All are welcome to bring picnics to enjoy prior to the performance and during the 45 minute interval.

This is the third annual opera organised by Chiswick House Friends in the grounds of Chiswick House: proceeds from the sale of tickets will go to the Restoration project of the House and Grounds.

Tickets are priced £25 and application forms have been sent to Members of Chiswick House Friends this week. Those interested in applying for tickets who are not yet ‘Friends’ should write to: Opera, Chiswick House Friends, 56 Park Road, W4 3HH.

'Finding a Voice' Older People's information sharing event
(Chiswick Town Hall between 10.30am and 12.30pm)
 Finding a Voice gives senior residents opportunities to find out more about the health, social care, leisure, travel, safety and lifestyle services available to them in this borough.
Subjects covered at the event include health, benefits, transport, mental health, community safety, recycling, Handyperson scheme, home care, falls awareness and medicines management. In addition, people will have the chance to get their blood pressure taken and speak to specialist from West Middlesex Hospital about health issues.
Exhibitors at Finding a Voice include Hounslow Council, Hounslow Primary Care Trust, West Middlesex Hospital, Age Concern Hounslow, Hounslow Police, London Fire Service, Alzheimer’s Disease Society Hounslow, Trading Standards, London Ambulance Service and Seniors Trust. Refreshments will also be provided.
