The Arts Society Chiswick are to be the lead sponsors of this year’s Chiswick Book Festival, which will run from 13-17 September. They will be the Diamond sponsors of the opening event to be held at Chiswick House, on Thursday, 13 September.

The evening will be devoted to William Thackeray and Vanity Fair, which is being serialised on ITV this autumn. Thackeray went to school in Chiswick and the book’s first chapter is set in Chiswick Mall. Tickets will go on sale later this month.

Co-Chair, Alison Miller says, “This close collaboration with the Chiswick Book Festival is in line with our ambition to be at the heart of arts and culture in our part of West London and our involvement in this important Festival is very much in line with our ethos of sponsoring the arts in the local community.”

Festival Director, Torin Douglas, says, “We are delighted to welcome The Arts Society Chiswick as our Diamond sponsor this year. This is our 10th Festival and it is appropriate that we have a partner that so closely shares our aims – promoting the arts and community in our local area. Indeed, many of the Society’s members have been supporters of the Festival from the very beginning.”

The Arts Society Chiswick, now in its fourth year, has a growing and enthusiastic membership of local people who enjoy monthly lectures on a variety of subjects, held at the Polish Centre on King Street, as well as visits, trips and in-depth study days.
