For most human beings, climbing Kilimanjaro is a big enough challenge itself, but Samin Saeed from Chiswick decided to take one step further by wearing her 5” killer heels on the summit to raise money for charity.

Being notoriously elegant and a girl that loves her high heels, Samin was sponsored on the basis that she would wear her high heels on Uhuru Peak, Kilimanjaro’s summit.

Samin commented “I had joined my local Chiswick Boot Camp to get myself trained and ready for Kili, but I had no idea what I was really letting myself in for until summit night which was the toughest!!!

"It is the hardest thing that I have ever done, but I was determined to get to the top to raise money for a charity called “Facing the World”.

Facing the World is a children's charity. It was set up by some of the UK's leading craniofacial surgeons so that children in desperate need, living without hope, in the world's poorest countries can have access to the very best surgery to transform their faces and radically change their futures.

“Having been a medical doctor myself, I really appreciate the difference that this small charity makes to these children and the hard work that the surgeons put in to change their lives. “Facing the World” is a small charity and needs all the help it can get to carry on this worthwhile work”.
