Saturday 11th September saw the first ‘Six Physio Cup’ take place at the Rocks Lane, Chiswick.

The cup was a five-a-side football tournament and the brainchild of Six Physio Chiswick Physiotherapist Gary Jones.

He told“I wanted to provide a fun way for local businesses in the Chiswick area to get to know each other. It was also important to highlight the local services that we all provide. I believe strong communications between businesses can only strengthen our position in the local community.”

Six businesses, as well as Six Physio, submitted a team to compete in the Six Physio Cup; Headlogic, Enjoy Work (from Chiswick Business Park), Netjets, The NBA and IMG, who submitted two teams.

Competitive spirit was high on the day and the teams arrived in good spirits, all determined to make it through the first round of knockout matches.

The semi-finals saw Enjoy Work take on Headlogic and IMG pit their wits against Six Physio, all battling for a prized place in the final.

After two very tense matches, Headlogic and Six Physio emerged victorious as competitors for the final match. After ten minutes the teams were equal with a score of 1-1, so extra time was required.

By the time the final whistle went, Headlogic had stormed ahead, scoring a further two goals and leaving the final score at 3-1.

As the first winners of the the Six Physio Cup, they were presented with a trophy by Gary. All competitors then headed to the Crown and Anchor pub on Chiswick High Road which hosted the post tournament social. Gary said that he would especially like to thank "Roger and his team for the excellent service provided" and also "a big thank you to Mehmet the manager at Patisserie Valerie's Chiswick for providing a delicious array of sandwiches and cakes for the players".

Six Physio Chiswick Clinic Director Tim Galliver was delighted with the event: “The first Six Physio Cup has proved to be a resounding success. It has been fantastic to link up with other businesses in the local area and raise awareness for the service that Six Physio provides. I hope this tournament is the first of many!”
