It was a case of Downton Abbey in downtown Chiswick on Saturday November 6th when the Cards for Good Causes shop was formally opened by local resident Elizabeth McGovern, currently starring as Lady Cora in ITV1's hit series.

The shop has opened at St Michael & All Angels Church, selling cards, advent calendars, wrapping paper and other Christmas items.

It is open from Monday to Saturday, 11am to 5pm, every day except Wednesday when it opens at 1pm. It is staffed by volunteers from St Michael's and 75p in every pound goes to the charities.

St Michael's beautiful new Christmas card is on sale there in aid of the church - Christmas Night, painted by Nigel Woolner. See it here, with links to 35 other causes that will benefit: www.smaaa.org.uk/CardsforGoodCauses
