Alison Baxter Clayton died on 30 March 2010 from breast cancer, she was 37 years old. Her family wanted to do something positive in her memory and have set up a charitable project, in her name, which reflects her keen interest in the education of children in Africa.

They have done this through ActionAid (registered charity no. 274467) whom Alison supported during her lifetime; she sponsored a little boy in the Ikot Mfon community in South Eastern Nigeria, which is extremely impoverished. ActionAid said that funds were needed for the primary school which is in a state of considerable disrepair. In short, children in Ikot Mfon are unable to get any decent kind of education.

Therefore to help raise money to make repairs to the school in Alison's name, her family is hosting a Charity Dinner and Dance at Chiswick Union Bar, Chiswick Park on Saturday 29th January complete with an auction (see lots below).

2011-26 Jewellery Jewellery from Beth Boatswain - Labradorite and pearls, all set on sterling silver. Labradorite is one of the most beautiful minerals. If not viewed from the best angle, its hidden beauty can be missed. It is usually dark grey, but in the right angle of light, it displays a variety of bright colours, including shades of green, blue, gold, red and yellow. This schiller effect is not the result of any surface colour. Light internally reflects across cleavage sections, creating what is known as labradorescence, and the colours vary depending on the angle of light.
