There is a big Chiswick contingent taking part in this year's Richmond 10k Run.

The event which takes place on 4th September is being sponsored by local financial advisers Berkeley Consultants. All funds will be donated to support Cancer Relief , Help4Heroes , Bliss and the restoration of St Anne’s church. MP Zac Goldsmith will be firing the starting pistol at 9am with trophies to be presented by Mayor Clare Head.

For the 2010 Run there were almost 1,000 entrants with the lead runners coming through in well under 39 minutes, but with most participants having a fun day and taking their time. The 10k course is user friendly being largely flat, starting on Kew Green and heading to the towpath via Ferry Lane , proceeding to and around Old Deer Park and returning to Kew Green via the towpath.

All facillities are provided with 5k water station , electronic chip timing with on site video results , warm up exercise routines and post run massage by Roko Health Clubs , free fruit and water at the finish and with on site BBQ offering bacon butties if desired.

The River Run is one of the activities organised by Kew Charity Events, Registered Charity No. 1129136, a wholly voluntary organisation , and this year
