The Great Mass is considered by many to be, not only one of Bach's finest creations, but one of the most inspiring sacred works ever written. Like the Christmas Oratorio, Bach re-worked solo and choral movements from existing cantatas alongside new and original music. The result is an astonishing creation attesting not only to Bach's technique and inspiration as a composer but also the depth of his own Christian faith.

Two regular soloists, Lesley-Jane Rogers and Austin Gunn, are joined by newcomers, countertenor Andrew Radley and baritone Thomas Humphreys.

Admission by programme, £15 (£12 concessions) More details from Chiswick Choir's web site.
