A new shop selling Belgian confectionary and biscuits has opened on the site of the former sports shop in Turnham Green Terrace.

The owners Edward Cloet and Moira Verbelen say they hope to bring a "whole new concept" of sweet treats to Chiswick with 'L'appetit fou' (roughly translated as 'crazy appetite').

The couple, who met in Paris and live in Putney, will sell imported Belgian chocolates and traditional Belgian cookies and other sweets and treats.

"Many of our items are made by family businesses in Belgium and have been made to traditional recipes for generations", says Edward.

"Chocolate is something we both miss from our home country in Belgium and we wanted to bring this beautiful product to Chiswick" says Moira.

They said they loved visiting Chiswick and had always wanted to open a business here. Despite the fact that there is another chocolate shop on Turnham Green Terrace, they say they plan to offer something different and will bring other products into the store as the business grows.
