94 Bus Schedule to be extended

Bus services between central London and Acton Green will be improved after pressure from local residents and Hammersmith and Fulham Council.

After negotiations between the council and Transport for London (TFL), it has been agreed to upgrade the current route 94 between Piccadilly Circus, Shepherds Bush and Acton Green.

From Saturday, 1 February next year the route will run from central London to Acton Green all day, instead of its current limited service, in addition there will be more buses along the route.

Deputy for environment, Councillor Michael Cartwright said: “The council asked TFL to increase the frequency of buses travelling between central London and Acton Green, and we are pleased they have listened."

At present, the route between Piccadilly Circus and Acton Green runs during Monday to Saturday shopping hours, with alternate buses from the east running only as far as Shepherds Bush Green, which has caused some overcrowding problems to the west of Shepherds Bush.

Cllr Cartwright said: “To overcome the current problems the 94 service will run to Acton Green always, with the added bonus of an extra six departures from Piccadilly Circus on Mondays to Fridays between 7 and 9pm.

“The Sunday shopping period service will also be increased from the current bus every 10 minutes to a bus every 8 minutes.”
