Abundance London is again organising its traditional Apple Day which has become a firm favourite in the autumn calendar.

Abundance Fruit Day, will take place on Saturday 1 October 2016, 12.30-4pm at St Michael & All Angels, Bath Road, W4 1TX.

All through September local schools have been going out with Abundance on picking trips to nearby trees. Although the Chiswick apple crop has been terrible, pears have been good. For the first time ever fruit from further afield has been accepted, but as it would still be going to waste, they say they have swallowed their scruples.

The huge apple press will again be in operation, this year serviced by their brand new scratter, purchased with funding from the Chiswick Area Forum (London Borough of Hounslow). They need lots of manpower (and childpower) to keep the scratter fed.
- Steve Oram, Orchard Biodiversity Officer from the People’s Trust for Endangered Species, will be displaying apple varieties and identifying samples brought in by visitors.
- Top craft activities: printing and clay modelling for kids and adults.
- Local honey, chilli pepper preserves, cakes and breads, herbs.
- Local chickens, demonstration bee hives.
- Apple bobbing, longest peel with prizes, etc etc.
