The location of the hundreds of the three thousand flowers and butterflies hand painted by people in Chiswick last month is no longer a mystery.

They now adorn the side of the soon to be vacated police station on the High Road as if nature is reclaiming the building.

Schools, care homes, brownie groups, members of the public - even the police – contributed to the collection as well as Speak out in Hounslow, St Mary's Convent, Age Concern, various Dementia Hubs and several other groups.

The art installation project was created by Karen Liebreich & Steve Nutt with funding from The European Regional Development Fund’s Welcome Back Fund, Abundance London and the London Borough of Hounslow.

The police are set to move out of the building next month having been there since 1972 and it is already up for sale.

The front of the ground floor has also been transformed with an image of the London skyline called London Stilled in the Evening created by panoramic 360 photographer Will Pearson.

In association with this project, many local artists have created butterflies and flowers in response to an invitation from Abundance London. Many of the contributors participate in Artists at Home but who did which work is secret, so you can be free to choose the work(s) you like. Bidding starts at just £10. All funds raised go back to Abundance London. Bid in person at the Flower Market launch or on the Abundance London web site from Monday 4 October.

The artwork will be officially unveiled at the Chiswick Flower Market, this Sunday (3 October).
