The collision occurred at 4.30pm and led to the closure of the road eastbound for over an hour and significant traffic delays across West London.

The car involved was a Peugeot 206. It is believed the driver stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made.

Police initially said the injury was "life-changing" but have now said it is not that serious.

Buses have been placed on diversion and road closures put in place around Kew Bridge Road and Green Dragon Lane while police investigate.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area where possible as long delays are expected.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
