A man has been taken to hospital after a collision on Bath Road, Chiswick this afternoon (12 January).

A burgundy coloured four door saloon car was travelling eastbound when it veered off the road and collided with a tree just past the Arts Educational School. It is not known at this stage if any other vehicle was involved.

Four fire engines, an ambulance and a police car attended the scene and Bath Road was briefly closed to traffic.

Eye-witnesses report that the driver of the car appeared to be conscious and not seriously injured but paramedics were taking great care in removing him from the vehicle

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said, "We were called at 1:27pm to Bath Road, W4, to reports of a road traffic collision.

"We sent an ambulance crew to the scene.

"We treated a man at the scene for back and neck pain and took him as a priority to St Mary's hospital."

Yesterday, Sutton Lane north was closed to traffic following an accident where a driver crashed into a lamp post.
