A pedestrian was taken to hospital following a collision with a car near the Stamford Bus garage last Monday (14 August).

Roads in and around the Chiswick area were gridlocked after the High Road was closed following the accident.

The incident which took place around 4pm involved a male pedestrian and a car near the Stamford Brook bus garage.

The High Road was closed from Homefield Road to Airedale Avenue in both directions.

The victim who is reportedly in his sixties was taken to a West London hospital with what police described as non-life threatening injuries. No arrests were made.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are still under investigation.

That stretch of the Chiswick High Road is constantly busy with buses coming in and out to the bus garage. There are two pedestrian crossings, and different sets of traffic lights. There is a bus lane which starts just after the junction with Goldhawk Road, which then turns into a left-turning lane for traffic heading down Chiswick Lane towards the A4.
