A 41-year-old male cyclist was injured on Chiswick High Road after a collision with a motor car this Monday afternoon (24 May).

He was reportedly hit by the car while travelling westbound on Cycleway 9 near the local branch of Metro Bank. The car is believed to have been travelling eastbound and turning right into Brackley Road.

The police say they were called to 137 Chiswick High Road by London Ambulance Service paramedics at 4.32pm.

The cyclist was treated for what were described as minor head injuries.

One eye-witness said, "I was walking east down Chiswick High Road and heard a crash over my right shoulder. A guy of about 40 years was lying on the road, his bicycle beside him. He had been travelling west. A saloon car was pulled up half-way across the road and had clearly knocked this guy down. He was lying alarmingly still.

"We called an ambulance which thankfully diverted on a call and arrived within 3 minutes."

Enquiries into the collision are ongoing.
