A 22-year-old man is in hospital in a critical condition with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in the early hours of Sunday morning (29 May).

The collision involving a pedestrian occurred shortly before 12.20am on Hammersmith Flyover. The car stopped at the scene.

The was closed A4 between Hogarth Roundabout and Hammersmith Flyover and a London Air Ambulance helicopter was called to assist.

The victim's next of kin have been informed.

Accident investigation work was undertaken around the A306 Hammersmith Bridge Road and the A219 Talgarth Road.

Traffic was diverted along Chiswick High Road leading to some congestion particular on Chiswick Lane but the A4 reopened at 9.30am.
