A man in his eighties had to be taken to hospital this Wednesday (10 January) after being hit by a car on Heathfield Terrace.

The Metropolitan Police spokesperson said the collision occurred while he was riding his bike near the junction with Heathfield Gardens shortly before 12:49pm .

An air ambulance was called but not required and he was treated at the scene by paramedics for a head injury. He was taken by ambulance to a trauma centre and his injuries have been assessed as not being life threatening.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and no arrests have been reported.

Heathfield Terrace was closed for much of the afternoon between Sutton Court Road and the junction with Wellesley Road but reopened in the evening.
