Archer in Chiswick wedding drama

Chiswick church stars in BBC's Jeffrey Archer drama previewed at next weekend's Bedford Park Film Festival

Chiswick residents have another chance to enjoy one of the highlights of this year's Bedford Park Festival - the Bedford Park Film Festival - later this week! The evening of local film clips - professional and amateur - was packed out in June and is being repeated by popular demand on Saturday November 30th, starting at 8pm.

And there's an extra surprise - a preview of extracts from 'Jeffrey Archer - The Truth' which will be shown the following night on BBC1. Parts of the satirical drama were filmed in Bedford Park - and the wedding of Jeffrey and Mary Archer was shot in St Michael & All Angels Church (see picture).

Other films to be featured during the evening include 'Nuns on the Run', which was shot in and around St Michael's (to the benefit of the church coffers); ITV's 'Plain Jane', about the early days of Bedford Park, which was screened earlier this year; and several amateur films, including the 1975 film marking Bedford Park's centenary. A recently discovered film of the 1969 "Green Days" fete will also be shown, as well as extracts from the video celebrating the wedding of the vicar of St Michael's, Father Kevin Morris, to Miriam Solly.
Tickets for the evening cost £12 for adults and £8 for under-16s, including traditional cinema food. They can be booked in advance by e-mailing the Parish Office at stmichaelandallangelsw4@ukgateway.net, or telephoning (020 8994 1380). Or you can write to: St Michael & All Angels Parish Office, Priory Avenue, London W4, giving your name, address, phone number and the number of tickets you'd like (specifying adults or children) and enclosing a cheque for the total (made out to St Michael & All Angels Church). They'll send you the tickets by post.
The event is in aid of the St Michael's Christmas Appeal, supporting four charities at home and abroad, including Save The Children and St Mary's Convent in Chiswick.
