Local author, Jeff Archer will be running this year's running London Marathon to raise money for the charity Lasers for Life.

Jeff, whose book on how to make 2006 your fitest year ever, is looking locally for sponsors to help him raise money to help treat Alzheimers and cancer. He said "All funds raised will go towards research into the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and cancer. The money we raise will help to advance facilities and staff enabling them to ultimately make these conditions treatable, and develop the charity's work into treating other medical conditions. ALL donations will be gratefully received so please dig out some loose change or forego a couple of coffees this week and send a few pounds to help treat illnesses that could affect us all."

His target is £1500 and there are a number of ways you can help him get there including:

  • Email jeff@the-tonic.com telling me how much you’d like to donate. Please include your home address and postcode and confirm that you’d like to claim gift aid on your donation. This won’t cost you anything but will enable the charity to claim extra money from the government.

Lasers for Life is an independent charity dedicated towards the development of laser medicine. Laser technology can make a huge difference to people suffering from a wide range of serious conditions including cancers and Alzheimer's disease. It has the potential to diagnose as well as treat diseases and is also a valuable alternative to conventional surgery.
