They’re already the highest paid pair in British TV, have made it in Hollywood and have a prime time slot on a major US channel (although this touch and go for a while as American execs were unsure if viewers would understand the double-acts’ Geordie accents) but evidently this is not the sum of Ant & Dec’s talents.

For, according to the Sunday Mirror, Chiswick’s much-loved TV twosome are about to put pen to paper to tell their life story.
The pair, who have worked together for the past two decades signed a deal worth £2.8m with Penguin Books.

Ant told the newspaper, "We've considered working on a book for quite a while. But next year we will have been working together for 21 years, so we feel the time is right."

Dec added, "We're really looking forward to reminiscing about our past and moments from behind the scenes, however embarrassing they may be."

A spokesperson for Penguin said, "The book will give fans an insight into the genuine intimacy and refreshing sense of humour the two boys share. Publishers have been pursuing the duo for years. We are hugely excited. There's a wealth of behind-the-scenes anecdotes waiting to be told."

And maybe a plug or two for their favourite Chiswick watering holes?
