Gabby Logan, television sports presenter and wife of Scotland rugby star Kenny, was said to be "over the moon" after giving birth to twins.

The twins, a boy and a girl, arrived after a difficult 27 hour labour with Reuben McKerrow Logan weighing in at 5lb and his sister Lois Maya 6lb.

32 year old Gabby, the daughter of the former Wales and Leeds United footballer Terry Yorath, recently joined Sir Bob Geldof as patron of Chiswick based charity Microloan Foundation.

The couple, who met in 1999, are currently in the process of moving from their four-bedroomed house in Chiswick to Esher.

Kenny Logan played 66 games for Scotland before retiring from the international stage after the 2003 World Cup.  He left London Wasps in 2004 to move to Glasgow Warriors for what was to be a two-year stint, but retired earlier this year to prepare for fatherhood.

In a statement to the press, he said “The whole experience was just the most amazing event of my life — better than winning the World Cup, Grand Slam and Calcutta Cup rolled into one."
