Local journalist, author, broadcaster and columnist Sam Delaney is to become editor of celebrity magazine Heat it was announced today.

W4 born and bred, Sam will be taking part in the Chiswick Book Festival on Sunday 27th September when he talks about his entertaining memoir on growing up in Chiswick and becoming a father entitled 'Night of the Living Dad: Confessions of a Shabby Father'.

Sam has done everything from starring in authored documentary ‘Mischief: Bust My Ass,’ his film on civil liberties to presenting the Sunday evening show ‘My Five’ on BBC Radio Five Live to contributing to E4’s 'Big Brother’s Big Mouth', fronting his own comedy Big Brother films and appearing as a live studio guest.

His more serious side could be seen on ITV1 throughout 2007 when he was a weekly panelist on news review show ‘Moral Of The Story’

His first book, ‘Get Smashed’, a history of the British advertising industry, was described by the Telegraph as "fascinating and often hilarious." His second book, "Nights Of The Living Dad," was published last month.

In a past life Sam was a tea boy for Gordon Brown and you may have heard his voice on adverts for stuff like razor blades, hair gel and video games.
