Doctors say that James Cracknell is now in a 'stable condition' following an horrific road accident.

The former Olympian who lives in Chiswick with his wife fellow TV presenter Beverley Turner was in Arizona filming a new show for Discovery Channel.

A spokesperson for the channel said, "James was taken to hospital where is being treated for a head injury.

"He is conscious and his condition is stable; doctors have said he is making good progress. His wife and family are at his side as he continues to recover."

The double gold medal-winning rower was on a bicycle being filmed when he was hit by a truck on Tuesday 20th July.
