X-Factor fever has taken over Strand on the Green School as old pupil Paije Richardson makes a poignant return to our screens on Saturday following the death of his grandmother.

The former Chiswick schoolboy, who now lives in Reading and works as a cinema usher, originally missed out on a place in the live finals but was brought back as a wild card act by his mentor Dannii Minogue.

Paije first auditioned for the X-Factor with "Fly Me To The Moon" but Louis Walsh was the only judge to enthuse over his performance, Simon Cowell compared him to a wedding singer and joined Cheryl Cole by saying no.

Louis went backstage to ask him to come back at the end of the day with another song.

When Paije returned to perform "It's A Man's World", he received a resounding yes from all three judges, with Simon Cowell complimenting his taste in music however he failed to make the top three when he performed Dannii Minogue at her home although she did chose him as her wild card act.

19-year-old Paije is now being mentored by Dannii Minogue along with fellow contestants in the Boys category Matt Cardle and Aiden Grimshaw.
