When Ben Miller and Alexander Armstrong met 17 years ago on at a party on a Chiswick barge, it was the beginning of a successful partnership that has stood the test of time.

The duo established a style of their own based on the idea that Ben and Alexander both fancied themselves to be actors and so loved nothing more than lavishing all their acting-ness on rather slight comic conceits and this pretty much remains their schtick today.

Watching this sketch (YouTube clip below) one could wonder if they found inspiration for some of their characters here too.

Their hugely popular Christmas Farmers Market will be held on Thursday 23rd December 2010.
