TV presenters Ant and Dec, the kings of Saturday night prime television, have triumped at the National Television Awards for the thirteenth year running. The pair won the Entertainment Presenter award and also took the gong for 'I'm A Celebrity..Get Me Out Of Here!' winning the Entertainment Programme award.

They also received compliments from the Prince of Wales, who praised their warmth and empathy towards charitable causes, their viewers and their deep friendship towards one another as "great achievements".

The nation had, he said, taken them to their hearts.

The Georgie duo, Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly were Kirsty Young's castaways on a recent edition of Desert Island Discs in which they discussed their careers, their firm friendship and the effect of the 2007 ITV Phone Line scandal.

The pair were the first to be jointly interviewed for the programme since Spitting Image's Peter Fluck and Roger Law back in 1987.
