Chiswick-based TV presenter Ant McPartlin has thanked his fans after an emotional speech following the duo's 17th National Television Award with Declan Donnelly. The duo won the award of Best Presenter for their shows I'm A Celebrity, and Britain's Got Talent.

Ant had recently returned to the TV screens presenting I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here after a spell in rehab. He had become dependent on painkillers and was suffering from depression following a knee operation.

He recently announced that he was planning to divorce Lisa, his wife of eleven years.

Stepping up to accept their trophy at the awards ceremony at the O2, a clearly emotional Ant told viewers: "It's been quite a 12 months so this really, really means a lot... Thank you to all of you for your support. It's helped me get through. Thanks to you, little guy (Dec)."
