The star of the next James Bond film is former ArtsEd pupil Lashana Lynch.

Lashana, 31, grew up locally and attended the school in Chiswick, where she won a prestigious Laurence Olivier Bursary.

After graduating in 2010, she won a role in a 2011 British film Fast Girls and then co-starred in the BBC television film The 7.39.

On TV, she has appeared in Silent Witness, Death in Paradise, and was a regular cast member on the short-lived BBC comedy Crims in 2015.

In 2016, Lynch was cast as leading character, Rosaline, pictured below, in the American period drama series Still Star-Crossed, produced by Gray's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes.

The new Bond 25, believed to have been titled Eclipse, is known to be Daniel Craig's final outing as James Bond.

The movie will reportedly begin begin with Bond living in the Caribbean, after quitting his role with MI6. His peacehowever is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain, played by Rami Malek, armed with dangerous new technology.

According to the Daily Mail, Lashana's character, listed as Nomi, makes her debut in one of the film's pivotal scenes.

A source told the paper, "At the start of the film M says, "Come in 007", and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman.

"It’s a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond but he’s been replaced as 007."
