Whilst Chiswick residents are deemed to posh to bother the likes of Ant & Dec and other local celebrities, it appears that our posties are not. Or at least one female postal worker who has been arrested and cautioned for stalking actor Colin Firth.

According to reports, the 45 year old woman was arrested after she begged her bosses to let her deliver to the Chiswick home of the actor. The woman is also understood to have posted fake accounts of meeting her idol on a Colin Firth fan website.

Fellow postal workers became suspicious of the woman's intentions after she applied to swap delivery routes with a colleague.

Colin Firth, perhaps best know (and appreciated) for his role as Mr Darcy in the BBC's adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice, lives in Chiswick with his wife and two children.

Scotland Yard made a statement saying "We can confirm a 45-year-old woman was arrested on Thursday August 23rd in connection with harassment of a man in Chiswick. She was later cautioned for the offence and released."
