Chiswick House and Gardens Trust has appointed Clare O'Brien as its new Director. She will take up her new position from 16 December 2013.

Clare comes to Chiswick from the Wallace Collection where she has been Director of Development and Marketing since 2001.  Prior to that she worked at the Royal National Theatre, the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID) and the Shakespeare Globe Trust.

Clare takes over from the Trust's first Director Sarah Finch-Crisp who was appointed in 2008.

Chairman Andrew Fane said, 'We are delighted that Clare is joining us at this important time for the Trust as we focus on fully integrating the management of Chiswick House with its gardens. Sarah has done a wonderful job during her time with the Trust. Initially overseeing the restoration of the gardens she has created an inspiring team to improve and manage this exceptional heritage site, put it on a sound financial footing and introduce widespread community involvement. We thank her wholeheartedly and wish her well for her future'.
