Significant changes are to take place in the café in Chiswick House Gardens in the new year. The running of the café is to be taken over by Colicci, a company that operates 30 fixed sites across London’s parks including kiosks, cafes and restaurant. The company was started in 1982 by Ernie Colicci and his wife Josephine with a single ice cream van.

They will serve cake and pastries made in their in-house bakery from 6 January 2020. They say their all day dining concept will have a greater emphasis on ‘brunch classics’ using locally sourced, sustainable products

Soon after they have taken over there will be a full interior refurbishment of the café with the layout aiming for a more efficient and ‘interactive’ use of the space. There will be an open kitchen and stone baked pizza will be added to the menu. The new look will be the work of Article Design Studio.

It is not known at this stage if the café will need to close during this refurbishment and, if so, how long for.

Colicci have been given a six year contract to run the café,

Chiswick House & Garden Trust Head of Commercial Activity, Sam Glenister-Batey said, “We are really excited to welcome Colicci here in January. Their passion for great food and a memorable service makes them the perfect partner for us.”

Colicci’s Director, Rob Colicci, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have been selected by the Chiswick House & Gardens Trust to be their preferred café operator. Food and drink are an important part of everyone’s day and that is something we do not take that for granted. We believe in pairing great tasting fresh food with a truly memorable experience and our plans for the café will do just that.”

We asked the Trust if the policy on allowing dogs into the café would change under the new operator but have yet to receive a response.
