Police have recently made a number of arrests in Chiswick in connection with suspected knife attacks. In one Stop and Search operation on 20 December on Chiswick High Road, a suspect was chased and detained after he tried to run away and a large hunting knife was recovered.

Police said that proactive patrols are being carried out regularly on Chiswick High Road by the Operation Wolverine taskforce.

A statement said, "On 20 December 2018 a large hunting knife was recovered from a male who was arrested and has been charged to court for the offence."

Separately, three men were arrested in the Chiswick area last week on suspicion of being involved in nine knife attacks. It was not revealed where these attacks were carried out.

Supt Gary Taylor told the public meeting on crime that highly trained officers were working in the Chiswick area to identify suspects. We have asked police for further details of the arrests.
